Louis Vuitton Vernis Elise Wallet in Peppermint Reveal!!

Good morning my lovelies,

I've been up since 7:30 and this morning has definitely been rough! I was perusing the purse forum and stumbled across the Marc by Marc Jacobs mmmm minty.  So I've been saying how mint is a big trend for this year, and of course I was scouting ebay for a preloved LV, but I found an amazing piece.

I found this lovely wallet.  I had been bored with the wallets I have been using. I don't have many because normally I could care less what my wallet looked like.  In fact I had been using the same fake chanel wallet my hubby had gotten for me for our first valentines day five years ago.  I know I know fakes are bad.  Before you want to go off on some rant about how fakes are awful.  Trust me I already know, went to fashion school......I know.  But seeing as the hubby got it for me I can't fault him for not spending more on the real thing, especially since we had only been dating for a month.  He definitely gets props for picking a beautiful wallet.  However I digress!!!

So I have been obsessed with mint...seriously my nails are painted mint right now!. When I found this preloved beauty I knew it had to be mine.    So the vernis peppermint was a seasonal color for 2004.  Since Louis Vuitton has moved towards brighter and darker vernis colors due to the color transfer issues I was shocked at the amazing condition this wallet is in.   Alright you have waited long enough!

I'm using a coach dustbag to keep it in my bag since I'm very concerned about the color transfer issue.

I love this wallet and am amazed at the great condition.  I'm not sure how long the Elise has been discontinued in the vernis, but I am glad I found this piece to add to my growing collection.

Well my lovelies I hope you enjoyed my reveal.

In need of some motivation

While I was doing so well getting the spare room transformed to closet I definitely hit a wall.  I need to organize my makeup table and lack any motivation to do it.  So instead as I sit here typing this and thinking of how I will continue knitting my cardi instead of getting my makeup table organized, I question if I have a problem with finishing things.  I constantly have multiple projects at any given time.  I am unable to not be working on some sort of project.  I have no idea why, but it's just the way I have always been.  I also have difficulties finishing things.  My second cardigan sleeve is almost done and instead of knitting I am typing this up and procrastinating finishing.  It wouldn't even take me long.  Why do I do it?  Why has my makeup table been sitting for two months unfinished?

Do any of you lovelies ever struggle with finishing projects?  I know I get squirreled often, this is what my husband calls it.  I get distracted and move on to something else without finishing what I started.  Well forcing myself to go knit now.  Good night!

Why do we lie to ourselves?

Good evening lovelies,
I'm sure you have all been there.  The moment you realize that you have been deceived by someone.  You are feeling so stupid and hurt because you "trusted" them.  Before you continue to blame the other person I want you to ask yourself, did I lie to myself?  Yes, you read that right.  Did you make up a situation in your head and convinced yourself that it was true.  If you answer me with no you didn't just make it up, look deeper.

Yes we have all been there but lately I have been watching someone struggle with this.  They will be called B.  So B convinced themselves that their friend loved them and would eventually realize they wanted to be with B.  From the outsiders view point and the friends view point this was never even something on the table.  The person who will be refered to as M had a fiancé.  A couple you can tell love each other.  However, up until recently B was convinced that M was going to leave their fiancé to be with B.   So of course after what seemed like a post that sounded like an ultimatum was going to  be given ended with another post stating the realization of being used an obviously M was not going to leave the fiancé for B.  Now of course everyone on the outside knew this was the outcome.  So why when it is so obvious to those on the outside that it is not obvious to B?

The truth of the matter is we lie to ourselves so much that when we want something bad enough we convince ourselves that things are how we want them to be.

As mammals we want more than anything to be loved.  There are so many lies that we tell ourselves when we want so badly to be loved.  I have to tell you do not listen to the lies you tell yourself.  I know I did it as well when I was younger.  Convincing yourself that you are happy with the person because you are terrified of being alone is not a good enough reason to stay with them.  You are just postponing your true happiness.  My best advise is to just go out there and live your life.

Oh Mr. Flu why don't you just go away

Hello there my lovelies,
It has definitely been awhile.  Not only have I been juggling my sick little man, but of course I wound up sick as well.  So my doctor forced me to get a flu shot when I was pregnant with LM and I didn't get sick last year.  It was amazingly glorious.  This year however I convinced myself that I did not need one.  Boy was I wrong.  Silly me I attempted to go to dinner at a couple friends house....body aches + chills + good people = still a miserable time.  The company was good but the misery I was feeling was not.  It has taken over a week and I'm just now starting to feel better, so of course what do I do?  Stay up late cleaning, doing laundry, knitting(more on that to come), and writing to you lovelies.  I know I am such a wild woman!

There has been so much going on since my last post and I am looking forward to filling you all in.   I got my first glossybox at the beginning of February, spoiled the hubby with a fun scavenger hunt and with a fun fondue and filet Valentines dinner, scored a new to me Louis Vuitton wallet, and am getting closer to finishing a cardi I am knitting.

So first up, drum roll please.......

Ok I won't make you wait long.  My first January glossybox. So as you may have read I subscribed to my first sub box.  I received mine late, but I mean really who cares!  Although apparently plenty care, man the generation of give me now is completely ridiculous.  I mean seriously stop it, you are making the rest of us look bad.  I digress, so received my glossybox and I loved it.  Totally with the $21 I got a discount though on this one so paid less.
How cute is this box!!!
And the products....

So two big thumbs up, and why not throw in the big toes up as well, for the beauty blender and solid beauty blender cleanser!!! I love that I use less makeup by using it.  My only con with it is that it's white, so pretty much after the first use you can tell it's dirty.  How about a big round of applause for the Vichy hydrating cream!  Ya not 100% sure that's what it's called but it is amazing.   Even after I wash my face I feel it still softening my skin, which trust me in the winter it is a VERY good thing.   Also loving the blush. So onto the two products I haven't tried. The Toni and Guy sea salt? Spray.  Hs so this may have not been my most genius of ideas, writing this while in bed... Hmmm yeah, most definitely not.  Can't go check what they are called, but hey if you are interested in them just ask and I promise to tell ya!  So anyway it's a styling spray for your hair.  I am interested in using it just haven't done my hair.  The last thing was a body wash I haven't bothered to try.  I don't know about you lovelies, but this mama has very little time to shower, let alone time to use a sample size body wash.

Alright so I should probably get going to bed.  I do need to function tomorrow.  Ahhhh!!! My bestie is in town and we are going thrifting, maybe teaching her to knit.  I'll write a little something on our finds, but there will possibly be a rant included.  Till next time lovelies just keep doing you!

NYFW

Well it's here again New York Fashion Week.  Who doesn't love this glorious week!  I'm planning on doing a few reviews on the shows so I won't go into details with this post.  Even with a foot of snow on the ground I am so excited for fall.  Fall has to be one of my favorite seasons for fashion.  Out come the boots, scarves, and coats.  You can look amazing without having to bundle up like you do in the winter.  Alright I have kept you long enough on to the trends.....

Fall Trends
* Layers, Long length and fur!  I adore layers I am thinking I need to grab some more tanks to layer underneath my tops so I can add another layer to my outfits.
* Dark color pallet:  This I am a huge fan of since I adore wearing blacks, greys and navys.
* pops of color sunshine yellow, deep emerald, cool mint:  Another new love of mine is mint.  I currently am bidding on a mint wallet that hopefully will be mine.
* menswear:  Another spot on the runway this season.  I've been seeing this for awhile but while a great look I haven't seen it catch on in my area.
* sheer:  This has been all over, I am looking forward to finding pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe.
* Winter Whites:  Who doesn't love bright whites!
*London:  My union jack clutch I received for Christmas suddenly has even more merit.

well until next time loves stay fashionable

A Louis Vuitton Revamp!?!

While it seems rumors have been swirling around the fashion house Louis Vuitton, only time will tell which turn into facts.  If any of you have been on the purse forum lately in the Louis section I am sure you have seen some of these rumors.  With new designers and the departure of Marc Jacobs after sixteen years it sure seems that they are trying to take the brand in a different more luxe direction.  For a company that has been around since 1854 I am fairly certain they are going to have the brand compete better with Chanel and Hermes.

Rumors:

Disappearance of the Monogram
Image from: website businessoffashion.com
While this may be shocking to many it does not surprise me.  From the 90's through 2000's it seemed monograms were everywhere.  I know I participated in this and I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been feeling these need to be phased out....at least for awhile.  I am sure the pitchforks and fire torches will come out, but allow me to explain.  While I agree that the Louis Vuitton monogram is a classic look I think that the brand has been cheapened unfortunately due to all of the counterfeits that have flooded the markets.  What person wants to spend large amounts of money on a product that others, who do not mind buying knockoffs, purchase for much cheaper and walking around like they have the real thing.  Yes, if you know the product you can tell if it is fake, but to those that can't it's just another bag that may or may not be real.  While I don't see them completely getting rid of the monogram print as it is a part of their history I do see them reducing the merchandise with the print.

Adios Multicolour!

This rumor appears to have been confirmed by quite a few Sales Associates.  The multicolour sales numbers I am sure have been declining for the last few years.  While it is a great pop of color there is just something youthful about the Multicolour Monogram.  For the clientele I imagine they want to attract this is a line that will detract from the overall appeal.  I do wish that I owned a wallet just because the colours are brilliant.

HELLO Luxury.....

Can I first start out with how much I adore these bags.  The price on the other hand I do not love. One of the reasons I believe they are pushing for a wealthier clientele is these bags.  The cheapest of this style in the monogram print and PM size is $2230 with the most expensive in the $30,000 range.  Luxury leathers and skins are not always easy to find so I do wonder how they will manage around that hurtle.  While I have just started on my Louis Vuitton collection I must say I am a little disappointed that right when I have started getting into it they are increasing the prices and changing their lines.  Mostly because I feel that customers like to get their feet wet first before diving in.  I think that my next Louis bag will be the eva clutch in damier ebene, which I know is not where they will make their money since it's one of the lower end products.  However, I love the damier ebene print and planned on getting at least a few pieces in this print before switching to the leather bags.  I don't know about the rest of you but when I start out collecting a brand I don't want to buy the really expensive ones right away.

Neverfull Replacement

image: http://www.illtakeboth.com/2013/11/louis-vuitton-monogram-neo-neverfull.html

Rumor has it that the Neo Neverfull is replacing the Neverfulls with the mono's being in the first wave.  From a business move I see why they are doing this.  However from a customer's point of view I am not sold on the Neo.  The price is only part of the issue, the biggest issue I have with the Neo is the ridiculous pouch.  A better idea would just be to include the mini pochette.  Including a tiny pouch that holds next to nothing is not going to make customers want to purchase the bag.  However, as I am not sure what their plans are for the damier neverfulls I do not want to completely disapprove of the neo and I love the option of choosing an interior color.  If they do this with the Damier prints I may be able to overlook the tiny pouch.  I do realize that they are trying to go back to exclusivity.

Goodbye Speedy?

Rumors are going around that the speedy as we know it is going away.  I can see them revamping it like the neverfull and charging more.  I highly doubt that they would actually get rid of the Speedy bag since it's so much of an iconic bag.  I can see them getting rid of some of the sizes, and possibly redesigning them to have a place for a strap that would be more discrete than the bandouliere.

An End to the Vernis Indian Rose, Citron, and Empriente Infini

I'm assuming that they bring out new colors at least every year.  I'm looking forward to seeing the colors they bring out for each line.

So overall I am looking forward to see the direction that artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière will take the house.  Till next time loves!

Marc Jacobs bag reviews

Marc by Marc Jacobs Totally Turn lock Quinn bag.
Sorry for it being turned on it's side.  As a hobo bag this was difficult to photograph.  Now looking back I realize I should have stuffed it, but I took these photos back in November.  So on to my review.  I purchased this bag in the fall of 2008 right after I got back from NYC.  I had spending money for shopping while there, but since the entire week was filled with fashion for 2010/2011 nothing caught my eye.  So once I got back to Seattle I knew I wanted to shop.  While I had been a huge fan of coach bags I had become tired of seeing everyone having them.  So I went to Nordstrom in search of a new leather bag.  I stumbled across this Marc by Marc Jacobs Turnlock bag.  I had never spent so much money on a bag so while I loved the other colors available I was uncomfortable choosing any of those so opted for the black.  To this day I still have very few black bags and I am content with my decision to get this in black.

I had heard of Marc Jacobs, I was attending fashion school at the time, but I did not buy the bag because of the designer.  I do not purchase bags because they are designer I purchase them because I love them.  No one should ever buy a bag just because other people have them.  That seems like an expensive item just to fit it.  I collect bags, so instead of spending money on other things that others are interested I save for bags.

I absolutely love the leather and the silver hardware.  The slouchyness is what makes me such a huge fan of this bag.    It has two pockets on the side with turnlocks but I have not used either pocket for anything.  I'm not a pocket person, as you will see in a photo below I just throw everything in my bag.

The inside has the Marc Jacobs fabric.  Also has a zip pocket and two non zip pockets.  My only complaint I think is the non zip pockets because my stuff gets lost in them.  Like I said though I do not like pockets. I still love this bag and consider it my first designer bag purchase, even though I have a small collection of Coach and Dooney and Bourke bags.

Marc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Karlie in Lobster Red
I can not say enough good things about this bag.  I had wanted a larger bag, but we were unable to afford it, and really the practicality of a larger bag would be an issue.  I received this as a Christmas gift from my hubby in 2012.  He wanted to get me some of the cheaper ones but I was adamant about this bag, not necessarily the color.  Again I was unsure of buying a colorful expensive bag, but I am so thankful he picked this color.  The photo does not do it justice.  It is a beautiful color.  I carry it with my Betsey Johnson diaper bag, because you could not pay me enough to put my stuff in with my newborn babes things( you know like poopy diapers and spit up things!)   So this bag has worked out perfectly for me.
There are six card slots which is plenty for me and room for a phone, keys, coin pouch, chapstick and a camera if you are inclined.  The bag is beautiful but my one complaint is the color transfer from dark denim.  I was extremely disappointed when I started noticing the blue line that started showing up on my bag.  Thankfully it's on the back so people wont see it, but no amount of cleaning has taken it off.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!  I've tried baby shampoo mixed with water.

While some may complain about the name plate I think it adds that extra design element to the bag that breaks up the lobster red.  The gold chain also adds an edgy touch to the bag but the beauty of this bag is you can also remove the chain and carry it as a clutch.

These are the only two bags I have in my collection but I have my eye on a few others but I have become much more choosy when it becomes to what bags go into my collection.  Till next time loves!
